“1st of June” Association is an NGO, registered on 18.10.2002 in Vratsa regional court.

“1st of June” Association works for an independent life of children and people with disabilities through delivering them different social services and protecting their rights. Since 2004 the organization has implemented the following services: “Social assistant”, “House attendant”, “Center for social rehabilitation and integration”. In regards to the first two a couple of projects were done by the association: “Social Services Against New Employment” (SANE) – www.sanebg.org (2004 - 2007), “Social services in the community” (2008 - 2009), National program”Assistants of disabled people” (2008).

“1st of June” Association laid the foundations of the development of social services in the community  in Biala Slatina municipality, working on the pilot joint project of the Bulgarian Ministry of labor and social policy and UNDP (United Nations Development Program) called “Social Services Against New Employment” (SANE). Biala Slatina was one of the 12 pilot municipalities, where the project took place from 2004 to 2007. During the four years of the project the financial support was 685 000 levs plus 77 000 levs from the municipality’s budget.

Other projects, implemented by the association from its registration until the second half of 2009:

Project: “The rights of children” (2004), with main activities – popularizing the rights of children and the equality of disabled children in the local community; training children from local schools in the rights of children; the projects total amount was 20 620 levs.

Project “Rights and Responsibilities” (2004), with main activities – training families with disabled children in human rights of disabled children; the projects total amount was 2020 levs.

Project “Together we can learn” (2004), with main activities – summer school for children with disabilities from “Home for mentally disabled children – Hope”, village of Tarnava and Secondary school “Hristo Botev”, village of Tarnava; the projects total amount was 1850 levs.

Partners Project “One school for all”, implemented together with the Secondary school “Hristo Botev”, village of Tarnava with main activities – trainings of parents and teachers with main topics “Integrated education – experience, challenges, barriers”, “Work in team”, “Practical development of individual training schedules”; the projects total amount was 2500 levs.

Project “Social services in the community”, with main activities – implementing the social services “Social assistant” and “House attendant” for children and adults with disabilities or elderly people, living alone; the projects total amount was 87 000 levs.
